Olivia, Eloise & Ramona Wrapped Up in One!

Everywhere I go these days people, sometimes even strangers come up to me and have something to say about my little Emily.  It usually starts, "You're little Emily..."  and I brace myself for what will come next.  This is one little girl who is best friends with the entire world, it doesn't matter if she has known you for her whole life, or for the last 30 seconds.  Not only that, she remembers everyone's name.  It's a little weird.  We will be walking through the store and she will say, "Mom, I want to go say Hi to George the fruit guy."   Come on!!  I have a hard time with my own off spring's names a good portion of the time and I was the one who bestowed the name on them.  And that's only the beginning.
This child can put Olivia the pig, Ramona Quimby and Eloise to shame.  She is a ball full of energy who loves to have a say in everything, and usually at very high decibels.  The girl has two volumes, super loud and sonic boom loud.  I can't tell you how many times she has made some kind of announcement out in public that I really would have preferred to stay private.  For example today at the pool, "Mom I pee'd in my swim suit, but that 's O.K. because I did it in the flowers!"  Hide me now.  The crazy thing is, even though she presents as such a challenge, she is so much fun to hang out with.  I am going to cry when she finally starts school, because she really brightens my day!

Summer Bliss

We have been swimming so many times this summer and every single time I have forgotten the camera.  Finally, today I was able to get the girls ready and remember the memory maker as well.  Here are some of the fun shots from today's playgroup at Gayleen's House.

While Daddy's Away the Girls will Play!

Mike has been out of town this week.  Hanging out in lovely, humid Baltimore at the Social Security Security Administration.  For all of you out there who are hoping for Social Security benefits in 30 years, your chunk just went to pay for our software, sorry!  While he was gone the girls and I had quite a bit of fun.  Unfortunatley it was minus Haley, she is in Colorado for the summer with her Dad.  Emily had been asking me all week if she could have her ears pierced.  Now, Mike and I have been asking the girls for some time if they wanted to have that done, and so far only Haley has taken us up on the offer.  She then freaked out when we took them out for the first time and have since closed up (that was $40 well spent!)  Finally, Emily the brave heart decided that she was "tuff" enough to handle this rite of passage.  So off to the mall we went.  Hannah was still solidly in the, "not me, no way" camp until Emily jumped up in the chair and without so much as a flinch had her ears pierced.  Well, if Emily can do it, so can I became the mantra for the next few minutes, and viola Hannah had hers done as well.  Daddy gets home tomorrow night, we'll see how long it takes for him to discover the new badges of honor.

I Have Commitment Issues!

Do you ever feel like that?  I have so many things to do, some because I have to, others because I want to.  And it seems that with all of my hours in the day nothing gets done!  I am having commitment issues.  I can't seems to commit to any activity.  The pull of the blogiverse doesn't help.  I just get pulled in and before I know it the day is done and I have nothing to show for it.

Another commitment problem,  I am having a hard time committing to my own blog.  I have gotten sucked into blog insecurity.  I am afraid that if I don't have some kind of deep or witty tidbit to share with the world, I'm not worth my salt.  I know that it is a bunch of bulk but that is what I got sucked into.  So, I am recommitting to my blog.  I commit to blogging whatever is on my mind.  I don't have to have a major event in order to have a viable post.  If I have a crazy thought, it's alright, and even encouraged to share with my blog world.  Even if they aren't that pretty.  Like having my birthday last month, having to renew my driver's license and almost failing the eye exam!  I'm getting OLD!  Today I vow to blog like no one is reading, and love every minute of it.

I am also recommitting to my weight loss.  That was another thing I was avoiding from last month.  Sorry to say, I did not make my goal of 15 pounds by my birthday.  I did, however, lose a solid 10 pounds.  Nothing to sneeze at!  As of today it is now 14.4 pounds.  I have a few things to use for motivation.  Our trip to Hawaii in two months and my brother-in-laws wedding next month.  I am not going to pigeon hole myself with an amount, I am just going to give it my best effort.  (I can say that now, because I have already had my bowl of Ben & Jerry's for the Night!  See, one of those not so pretty things.)  The point is, as of this moment I am back in the hunt for a slimmer me.  Wish me luck!

We have finally done it!  We have booked our first Hawaii Vacation.  Mike and I will be heading out to our Pacific Paradise in September for our Anniversary.  Thanks to my Mom who has graciously agreed to fly to Vegas and watch the girls.  So,  if anyone out there has some hidden treasures that they can share about Oahu, please share!!

Help! It's Official, I have a Middle Schooler!!

Example

Haley graduated from 5th grade this past week.  I am proud that she made it through the 5th grade gauntlet.  That year seems to be one of the toughest years, especially for girls.  It was bumpy, but she managed to pull it all together in the end and made it on the A/B Honor Roll.  Great Job Haley!  I knew you could do it.

Four Year Old Funnies!

Emily:  I have an instruction in my nose.
Dad:  You mean an obstruction?
Emily:  Yea I have an obstruction in my nose.

She woke up with a stuffed up nose this morning, and in normal four year old fashion had to come up with a much more "grown up" word for it.

My Super Sexy Husband!!

Totally behind the eight ball on this one!  I was tagged quite a while a go and so I am playing catch-up.  Here are a few fun things about my Super Sexy Hubby!

  1. What's his Name?  Michael Edward Thoming
  2. Who eats more?  I'm taking the 5th on this one, Mike has been on a super diet lately and has lost about 40 lbs,  yea for him, not that great for my psyche.
  3. Who said I love you first?  We must be getting old, because neither one of us can remember.
  4. Who is taller?  Mike
  5. Who is smarter?  Hands down MIKE!
  6. Who is more sensitive?  That's a toss up,  I married a rather sensitive guy.
  7. Who does the laundry?  Up until last weekend I would say Mike,  but I think he is looking for the early retirement package.
  8. Who sleeps on the right side of the bed?  Looking at the bed, ME.
  9. Who pays the bills?  We both do.
  10. Who cooks more?  Hands down, I do, but Mike is great on the grill.
  11. What meals do you cook together?  Brinner,  Breakfast for Dinner.  It's my experience that men cook breakfast stuff so much better than women.  It must be what they focused on in Boy Scouts.
  12. Who is more stubborn?  Once again that's a toss up!
  13. Who is the first to admit when they are wrong?  I would have to say me,  I hate to have any contention between us.
  14. Who has more siblings?  Mike, has three brothers and a twin sister.  I have two sisters.
  15. Who wears the pants in the relationship?  I think we both have a leg.  Mike and I are really good partners, we both respect each other to much to take a dominating role.
  16. What do you like to do together?  We love to travel together, snuggle, talk, just be together.
  17. Who eats more sweets?  Once again pleading the 5th.  Mike has a lot more discipline than I do.
  18. Guilty pleasures?  Donuts!
  19. How did you meet?  We met at a Christmas Party for the Singles Ward in our area.
  20. Who asked who out first?  That one I think I can claim.  I had tickets to a basketball game and asked him if he wanted to go with me.  We have a really hard time trying to figure out when we went out on our first date.  We were hanging out as friends so much and before we knew it the relationship had morphed into much more.
  21. Who kissed who first?  Mike, but he took his sweet time.
  22. Who proposed?  Mike, but he made me plan the date!
  23. His best feature?  His smile!
  24. What is his greatest quality?  The way he loves me!  He is so kind, generous, forgiving, uplifting, funny, smart, he makes me feel like the most beautiful woman in the world!
Love Ya Honey!!

Now I tag... Heather Carlton, Elizabeth & Autumn

I've Been Tagged again!

How to play this Game of Tag;
  1. List three things for each category
  2. Tag Three more people at the end of the post
  3. Have fun getting to know your friends and family
Joys:
  1. My Family, who knew that life could be so rich!
  2. My Friends, who knew you could have so much fun!
  3. Creating things, I have way to many hobbies!

Fears:
  1. SNAKES!!!  I hate them!!
  2. Heights, I'm not as big of a chicken as my Mom, but I gotta say I don't really care for them.
  3. I am terrified of either myself or a loved one getting seriously ill or in an accident.  I know that this is everyone's fear, but I gotta say that as I get older the fear is getting a little out of control.
Goals:
  1. This is going to sound weird but... master my emotions.  I know all women have this issue, I am working hard to stay in control and realize that I am happy.
  2. Grow closer to my Heavenly Father.
  3. Become a better wife and mother.
Collections/Obsessions:
  1. I am slightly obsessed with handbags and shoes!  I am all girly girl when it comes to these items!
  2. Total Travel Channel and Food Network FREAK!  Those who can not travel and cook, watch others who can.
  3. Kitchen stuff, the problem is that I have run out of space for all my handy little gadgets.  Now, if they could just make a gadget for that!
Random Facts:
  1. I spend way to much time with my computer.  If I would just spend that time with my husband and girls, I wouldn't have to worry about goal number three.
  2. When I travel I have changed the way I collect souvenirs.  Rather than bringing home one more cheesy t-shirt I spend my time looking for a natural item that will remind my of that place.  For example, when Mike and I were in Florida we fell in love with the beach there.  The sand is like powdered sugar, it's beautiful.  So, I brought home a container full of sand and sea shells.  The guys at airport security thought I was a little loco, but who cares.  I have rocks from Seattle, St. George and Colorado and shells from California.  I have a pretty glass container at home that I save these items in, and every time I look at them all of the wonderful memories come flooding back.
  3. I love trying weird foods!  I won't gross you out with the list but hanging out at a good sushi bar with with my friend Amanda is my idea of a super yum-o time!
Now that you know about me, I would love to hear about all of you!!  I tag... Amanda, Janeen, & Heather Carlton if she will ever invite me to her blog!!  He, he  Love YA'll!!
